Treat Her Like a Princess

Denise Hazen, a Stage 3 breast cancer survivor, has written and published a new handbook entitled “Treat Her Like a Princess: How to Help a Girlfriend with Breast Cancer.” Denise wrote the book, which is based on her own experience with breast cancer, to help caregivers guide their friends through the process of breast cancer treatment. Denise raised the money to self publish the handbook, and all proceeds from the first printing will be donated to Pink Ribbons Project.

“Treat Her Like a Princess: How to Help a Girlfriend with Breast Cancer” outlines in simple terms how to help the patient and her loved ones deal with the realities of breast cancer and how to maneuver through life’s daily demands. The guide includes specific ideas for planning meals, scheduling help with children and pets, suggested post surgery support, and ways to celebrate your friendships. A glossary of common terms used during breast cancer treatment is also included.

As well as being sold in the Pink Ribbons Project Online Pink Boutique, the handbook will be available for $15 at several boutique stores around Houston including
